Robert W. Jackson, age 89, passed away Friday, April 18, 2025. He was born in Erie, January 11, 1936, son of the late Joseph and Svea (Johnson) Jackson.
He graduated from Millcreek High School and served in the U.S. Army. Bob retired in 1996 as Senior Vice President and Policy Accounting and Information Service Division officer from Erie Insurance Group, proudly concluding 41 years of dedicated service. Prior positions included vice president and manager of the Divisional Systems Department, vice president and project administrator and assistant treasures. In 1972, Bob became the third employee in the ERIE's history to earn the CPCU designation. He later served as the first treasurer of the newly formed Presque Isle Chapter of the Society of CPCU. As the Finance Divisional Systems manager and one of the first in the country to earn the new Associate in Insurance and Finance (AIAF) designation. He also earned the Associate in Automation Management (AAM) and was instrumental in designing a new account billing system and introduced an Assigned Risk processing system. He continued to stay active for another 15 years at Pol's Trucking and Disposal, PRO Waste. Bob had a passion for music and dancing that brought him-and those around him-immense joy. He sang in the choir at the Church of the Covenant, delighted in performances by the Erie Philharmonic, and cherished dancing with The Cotillion. Bob was also an avid ham radio enthusiast, enjoyed golfing, and spent many happy years traveling with the GEER group. Above all, Bob's greatest joy was the time he spent surrounded by his beloved family, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Bob had a smile that could light up any room-a gift he shared freely with everyone around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory lives on with his loving wife of 37 years, Janet S. (Doolittle) Jackson; his children, Todd Jackson (Tudor), Melanie Pol, Robin Mascharka (Thomas), and Bryan Pol (Christie); his 14 cherished grandchildren and 5 adored great-grandchildren; as well as many loving nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his brothers, Joseph Jackson Jr and Richard Jackson.

Janet...so sorry to hear of Bob's passing- my deepest condolences to you and your family.
My Bob passed away a few months ago in January. I deeply feel his absence every day.
I will never forget your Bob's smile and wonderful personality! It was ALWAYS a pleasure to play our mutually favorite song, "How Do You Keep the Music Playing". Those memories from the Maennerchor Lounge are still vivid in my mind. Dinners with "The Gang" at Ricardo's were also memorable.
My apologies for not being able to come to the funeral home to pay my respect. Rest assured that you are in my thoughts and prayers, Janet. May Bob rest in peace, and may our Lord bless you with His comfort and peace.
Give me a call when you feel up to it. It would be nice to reminisce and catch up.
Love, Hugs, Kisses, and Prayers,
Lois Zollars

Janet and Bob's Family,
We were so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. We remember fondly the friday night dinners at the Maennerchor club spent with you and those wonderful people listening to Lois play the piano. We last saw Bob at the Siebenburger club, you both looked great! We are so sorry for your loss...

Take Care,
