EAST LIVERPOOL – Robert S. Reed, 78, of Calcutta, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at East Liverpool City Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Robert was born in Rochester, PA on July 16, 1946, a son of the late Robert L. and Hester (Scott) Reed. He was a graduate of Western Beaver High School. Robert was an Army veteran proudly serving during the Vietnam War where he earned a Purple Heart. He worked as a pipefitter for Steamfitters Local Union 449 retiring after forty years of service. He was an avid hunter and Steelers fan.
Preceding Robert in death were his son Robert J. Reed and two sisters Shirley Cochran and Judy Beaver.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 30 years, whom he married July 1, 1994, B. "Sue" (Russell) Reed; daughter Lisa (Theresa) Reed of Columbus, OH; three stepchildren Jennie Horner of East Liverpool, Rachel Horner of East Liverpool and Eric Horner (Missy) of New Waterford, OH; five grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brother Roy Reed of Midland; sister Hester "Doodle" Beaver of Aliquippa, PA; mother-in-law Kathleen Russell of Chester, WV and special friend Jerome Rosenberger of Industry, PA.
Friends may visit Saturday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 1 to 5 p.m. Pastor Craig Knight will conduct a funeral service 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home where Tri State Veterans Burial Group will conduct military honors.
Following the service the family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for a time of fellowship.
