Robert J. Singer

1952 - 2025

Robert J. Singer, 73, of New Kensington, passed away at home on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, following a year and a half illness. He was born Jan. 28, 1952, in Harrison Township to the late Robert W. and Dolores J. "Peggy" (Rigatti) Singer Jr. Robert has lived the past 11 years in New Kensington and prior to that most of his life in Natrona Heights. He was the owner/operator of the former Do Drop Inn, Natrona Heights, until his retirement in 2013. Robert was a member of the New Kensington Eagles, a life member of the Lower Burrell VFW, and a member of the Arnold Fire Dept. #2. He was a 1969 graduate of Highlands High School, the first class of Har Brack that graduated from Highlands and competed in cross country. He was a coach for many years for the Highland Hornet Football team, enjoyed South Buffalo Sportsman trap shooting, loved to cook and entertain, and loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle and his bowling and dart league. Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Gwen L. Singer; son, William J. Singer, of Natrona Heights; and stepdaughter, Gail Leyland, of Ford City. Also surviving are grandchildren, Bailey, William, Jarrod, Robert, John, and Trent Singer; step-grandchildren, Caleb and Christian Leyland and Marcellus and Mariana Duncan; and his sister, Shelly (Mark A.) Marshall, of South Buffalo Township. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Joseph M. Singer; a sister, Pamela Monti; and a stepson, Frederick Leyland.
