Mr. Roger Griffin, 85, of Adel, Georgia, passed away on June 18, 2025, at his daughter's residence. He was born on June 25, 1939 in Adel, Georgia to the late Randall Lovett Griffin and the late Rubye Ivey Griffin. He lived the majority of his life in Cook County with the exception of about 23 years that he lived in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where he worked as a beach raker for the city. After retiring, he returned to Cook County and worked for A Better Climate Heating And Cooling with his grandson. Mr. Griffin was a member of the Adel Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Frances McClung Griffin of Adel; one son, Alan Griffin of Adel; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Erin and Bill Seanor of Hayesville, North Carolina, Gail Full of Adel, Gina and Randy VanMetre of Adel; twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Robert Christopher Drummond, and one son-in-law, Ron Full, Jr.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the Chapel of Boone Funeral Home with Rev. Ashley Way and Rev. Neal Shelnutt officiating. Interment will follow at Crossroads Church Cemetery. Keith VanMetre, Kevin VanMetre, Jason Griffin, Andrew Griffin, Jay Pope and J.C. Meeler will serve as pallbearers. "What a Day That Will Be," "Sheltered in the Arms of God" and "This Is Just What Heaven Means to Me" will be played at the service. Visitation will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, June 20, 2025, at Boone Funeral Home, 1804 S. Hutchinson Ave. in Adel.
