Ronald K. Cox, a man whose loving and adventurous spirit left an indelible mark on those who knew him. Born on February 28, 1939, in Galesburg, Illinois, Ronald's journey through life was one filled with joy, family, and the great outdoors. He passed away on October 6, 2025, in Lebanon, Missouri.
Ronald's journey through life was one filled with joy, family, and the great outdoors. He worked at several types of jobs including as a cook and janitorial/housekeeping.
Ronald's life was one of companionship and enduring love, having married his soulmate, Emma Sue (McClure), on July 10, 1987. Together, they built a life rich in laughter and mutual respect. Sadly, Ronald was preceded in passing by his beloved wife.
He was also preceded in passing by brothers, Dale and Sonny Cox; grandson, Daniel Ray Elkins; and his parents.
Ronald's memory will be forever treasured by his daughters, Sue Creighton of Spokane, Washington, Beverly and John Harmon of Richland, Missouri, and Esther and Greg Harmon-Myer of Montreal, Missouri. His legacy continues through his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his love for life and family.
He found solace in the gentle lapping of the waves during his fishing trips and felt most at home under the canopy of stars on his many camping adventures. Richard's love for nature was only surpassed by the joy he found in spending time with his family. His spirit will forever be a guiding light for his family, a beacon of the love and adventure that defined him.
No formal services are planned at this time.
The family kindly asks for donations for cremation expenses. These may be made directly to the funeral home.
Care has been entrusted to Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Ltd. – DeGraffenreid-Wood Crematory, Springfield, Missouri.
