Sandra Kay Harris, beloved mother, daughter, and sister, passed away on May 12, 2025, at 62. She was born on October 21, 1962, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to parents John Cleven Harris, Sr. and Essie Lee Watson Harris. Sandra was the youngest of six children -- she was "the baby". Sandra dedicated her life to God and Christ's teachings at a young age, being baptized at Mt. Herman Baptist Church in Shreveport, Louisiana.
After graduating from Southwood High School, Sandra earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Northeast University in Monroe, Louisiana. She went on to earn her Master of Arts degree in Psychology from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia, where she decided to make her home for over thirty years before moving to Dallas, Texas. Sandra practiced her counseling profession in Atlanta and Dallas, always being guided by her strong faith in God and Christ's teachings, providing mental health and life counseling services for the less fortunate and those recovering from addiction. She was and still is adored by her many clients, and many lives were saved and families restored as a result of her dedication to her profession.
Sandra was predeceased by her parents; her son, Joshua Mark; and her siblings: Linda Marie Evans, Brenda Joyce Collins, and John Cleven Harris, Jr. Those left to cherish lasting memories include her two siblings, Carolyn Faye Triplett and Jacqueline Denise Scarlett (Gregory); her nephews: Derrick Harris, Jonathan Scarlett, Michael Triplett (Brittany), and Nicholas Scarlett; her nieces, Sonithia Harris and Whitney Evans; and a host of great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins and friends.
