Sandra Martin, age 82, of Amarillo, Texas and formerly of Muleshoe, Texas, died Sunday, June 1, 2025 in Amarillo. She was born July 22, 1942 in Floydada, Texas to Charlie E. and Mary (Smith) Wright. She married Don Martin in Floydada, Texas on December 23, 1960
Sandra went to high school and business college at the same time. She received her Paralegal degree while working as a legal secretary for several years. Sandra was a devoted homemaker and fostered 32 children over 10 years. She was also an excellent seamstress. Sandra loved music, and handed her gift down to her children and grandchildren, taking them to several singing schools. She was a beautiful example of a mother in the church and at home as well. Sandra was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. She loved to travel. Sandra's greatest joy was making many trips as a minister's wife to church meetings, whenever possible. She was a member of the Muleshoe Primitive Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Tammy Lynn Martin; a sister, Mary Elizabeth Sims; and a son-in-law, Randy Smith.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Don; her son, Charles Martin and his wife, Deborah of Hasty, Colorado; her daughter, Terrie Smith of Lazbuddie, Texas; a sister, Coleta Mitchell of Lubbock, Texas; her nine grandchildren, Rochelle Jones and her husband, Dustin, Riley Smith and his wife, Jenn; Michael Burbank, Jonathan Burbank, Hannah Martin, Sarah Martin, Shawndee Meeks, Chelsee Ponder and Todd Nichols; and eight great-grandchildren, Khai Smith, Cole Meeks, Lane Ponder, Leakyn Ponder, Cathryn Smith, Randall Smith, Charlotte Smith and Randy Jones.
The family suggests memorials be sent to Muleshoe Primitive Baptist Church, PO Box 36, Lazbuddie, Texas, 79053, Littlefield Primitive Baptist Church, c/o Elton Bass, 5703 A Grinnell Street, Lubbock, Texas, 79416 or the charity of your choice.

June 5, 2025

I remember one time she ask what my name was because she had heard some of the people call me sister Betty and she said she always knew me as sister cathy and I told her that I was born and I would answer to both and we had a good laugh over this
I will miss her wonderful spirit
Also at a church meeting there were 4 Dons so she number them Don 1 Don 2 Don3 and Don 4 and I wonder if they remember who they were
