Sheila Dynette Severin Williams was born on July 2, 1950, in New Orleans, LA. She was the daughter of Hietz Norwood Severin Sr. and Della Ruth Bray Severin; she was the first of two children born of that union. Sheila accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and baptized at Pleasant Zion Baptist Church, she eventually became a member of Franklin Avenue Baptist Church. She graduated in 1968 from George Washington Carver (Rams Forever!). She earned a B.A. in Psychology from Southern University in New Orleans. Her predominate employment was with the Louisiana Department of Corrections where her position was as a Probation and Parole Officer, she retired with 28 years of service. For five years she was married to Calvin V. Williams, from that union on May 14, 1974, an amazing daughter, Asha Maia Williams, was born. She was the love of Sheila's life and was her greatest earthly blessing. She stood in awe at what the Lord had done. Together they enjoyed traveling, festivals, dining out and living life to its fullest. Unfortunately, on 9/28/18, Asha transitioned from this world to the next. Although Sheila never fully recovered from that loss, she continued to embrace life in a positive way and to be a friend and an encourager to others. On May 10, 2025, Sheila peacefully transitioned from this world to the next leaving to mourn her absence, her brother Hietz Norwood Severin Jr, her aunt and uncle Joycie and Matthew Williams, cousins and a host of friends who loved her and will deeply miss her. Family and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, May 31, 2025, for 10:00 a.m. at Franklin Avenue Baptist Church, 8282 I-10 Service Rd., New Orleans, LA 70126. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Pastor Fred Luter Jr., officiating. Interment is private. Guestbook Online: www.anewtraditionbegins.com (504)282-0600. Linear Brooks Boyd and Donavin D.
