MOBILE – Mrs. Shirley Mae Keith passed away at the age of 71 on April 24, 2025, in Mobile, Alabama.
Shirley was born August 27, 1953, in Galveston. A lifelong nurturer, Shirley had a heart for little ones. Whether she was working as an aide on a school bus for Santa Fe ISD, or lovingly babysitting children, she brought warmth, patience, and joy into every child's life. She had a special bond with her many nieces and nephews, who knew they could always count on her for unconditional love. She had a giving personality, always willing to lend a hand or a kind word. She was also an avid reader with a soft spot for mystery novels. Above all, Shirley was a devoted and supportive mother, and she leaves behind a legacy of compassion, care, and countless lives touched by her gentle spirit.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Robert Price; mother, Georgia Mae Price; step-mother, Nettie Pearl Price; sister, Dolly; half-brother, Ricky.
Survivors include her son, Christopher Keith; brother, Rusty Stanforth; sisters, Linda Sue Tenhet, Sherry Anne Robertson (Jerry); grandchildren, Michael Anthony Keith, Jacob Andrew Keith, Zane Alexander Keith; numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2025, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Pastor Dave Watson officiating.
Memorials in the form of donations may be made in Shirley's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 502 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
