Thomas "Tom" Allen Berg, 71, went home to God on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at his home in Harrisburg, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on December 31, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois, Tom was the son of the late Maurice and Bernice (Gawarsky) Berg. He grew up in Chicago and graduated from Kelly High School in 1971.
Eleven years ago, Tom and Rosemary made the move to Harrisburg. To his beloved grandkids, Tom was simply "Pop-Pop"-he dedicated his heart to every moment he shared with them, from babysitting to cheering them on at every event. He made sure they never forgot the answer to his famous, loving question: "Who loves ya?" The answer, of course, was him.
Tom had a zest for life and a spirit of adventure. He loved traveling to places with soft white sand, clear blue water, and stunning sunsets-Florida, Aruba, Hawaii, and Siesta Key were among his favorite escapes. He also loved skiing the slopes in Colorado, camping under the stars, and finding peace in the great outdoors. A classic car enthusiast through and through, Tom had a knack for working on antiques and knew the ins and outs of every engine.
What people will remember most about Tom is not just what he did, but who he was. He had a warm and generous heart, a wonderful sense of humor, and the ability to make anyone feel cherished the moment they entered his life. He brought joy to every gathering, love to every friendship, and laughter to every day. The slogan "WEBEFUN6" will live on forever as a reminder of his spirit.
Tom is survived by his devoted wife, Rosemary (Javorski) Berg; his children, Jeannine Berg of Plainfield, IL, James Berg and wife Kim of Plainfield, IL, Jaime Wagner and husband Travis of
Harrisburg, PA, Brad Simmons and wife Wilder of Paso Robles, CA; his adored grandchildren, Samantha Madura, Mason Madura, Kayla Madura, Olivia Berg, Liam Berg, Joshua Maus, Phoenix Simmons, Tallulah Wagner, and Paxton Wagner; his brother-in-law Jim Javorski of Orland Park, IL and wife Jean; his sister-in-law, Gerry Osborne of Homer Glen, IL; and his faithful terrier mix, Nikki, who never left his side.
He was welcomed into heaven by his brothers, Maurice Berg, Jr., and Elmer Berg, as well as his brother-in-law John Osborne and son-in-law, Sam Madura.
A viewing to honor Tom's life will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M at Jesse H Geigle Funeral Home, at 2011 Linglestown Rd in Harrisburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Tom's memory to the Harrisburg Area Humane Society, a cause close to his heart.
