Timothy Ronald "Lil Tim" Jernigan Jr.

COLERAIN, NC - Timothy Ronald "Lil Tim" Jernigan, Jr., aged 14, passed away tragically on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Bertie Beach in Merry Hill, North Carolina, as a result of drowning. Lil Tim was born on April 18, 2011, in Bertie County, North Carolina, to Timothy Ronald Jernigan and Shaunna Lynn Glidden Jernigan, who died trying to save her son.
Lil Tim's vibrant personality left a mark on everyone who knew him. He was a rising 9th grader at Bertie High School, eagerly looking forward to the new adventures that awaited him. Known for his love of riding his bike around town, he cherished spending time playing video games and chatting with his friends. His sense of humor was infectious, and he found great joy in joking around with others.
Lil Tim had a special bond with his family. He shared a playful rivalry with his little sister Emma, whom he adored dearly. His love for animals was evident, and he often doted on them with care and affection. Above all, Lil Tim treasured hanging out with his family and friends, creating memories filled with laughter and love.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his siblings, Ayden Lane, Emma Jernigan, Madison Nichole Jernigan, and John Allen Jernigan; his grandparents, Julie Baynard and her husband Randy, Mary Ellen Jernigan, and Mimi and PaPa Lane; his aunt, Rachel Cummins; and cousins, Trinity Cummins, Alex Manning, and Zackery Jernigan.
A tender celebration of life memorial service will be held to honor Lil Tim's memory at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Mars Hill Baptist Church in Colerain. The service will be officiated by Rev. Webb Hoggard, gathering family and friends to remember the light and joy he brought into their lives.
Lil Tim will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but his spirit and the moments shared will forever remain in our hearts.
