Virginia C. Butcher, age 95, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late George Russell Butcher. Virginia is survived by her children, George (Cindy) Butcher, Helen McRoberts, Richard Butcher, and the late Genny (Dwight Sr., survives) Kidwell. She was a loving grandmother to Laurie (Rod), Forrest, April (Bryan), Tanya, Jamie, Brian, Georgie (Tony), Victoria (Matt), and the late Dwight Kidwell Jr. She also leaves behind twenty great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Born on December 10, 1929, to the late Erwin Sr. and Helen Michael Gundrum, Virginia was the last surviving member of her siblings: Shirley Burton, Erwin Jr., Billy, and Richard Gundrum. Her memory is cherished by a host of other family members and friends.
Throughout her life, Virginia faced many challenges but prevailed with strength and grace as a devoted wife, mother of four, and grandmother of many. In 1956, she began working for Keebler, dedicating many years to provide for her family, and retired in 1995. She was a wonderful mother who truly embodied the qualities that made life worth living.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 12:30 p.m., both at Deer Park, Staley - Strawser Funeral Home, 7140 Plainfield Rd, Deer Park, OH 45236. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Miami Township. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
