Born on November 1, 1942, in St. Augustine, Jack was the son of the late John Franklin and Rosa Belle Wright. A lifelong resident of the area, he built a legacy through hard work and dedication, owning and operating Jack Wright's Tree Services for over 50 years.
Jack was a man of quiet strength, known for his deep love of family and his passion for the outdoors. He found his greatest joy in fishing trips shared with his beloved wife, Carole Falana "Faye" Wright, to whom he was married for 57 years until her passing in 2023. In his younger years, Jack had a love for racing cars.
In addition to his wife and parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brothers, Jake Wright, George "Buck" Wright, Earl Wright, and his sisters, Evelyn Fallaw, Elma Crews, and Margaret Lightsey.
Jack is survived by his son, Mark A. Wright; grandchildren, Mark Jr., Shane, Saralynn, and Justin; and great-grandchildren, Christopher, Ryan, Justin Jr., Nevaeh, and Jace. He is also survived by his brothers, Bruce Wright, Randy Wright, his sisters, Helen Bauman, Mary Davis, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home in St. Augustine. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Clarence Blalock officiating. Jack will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery.
