He will await the resurrection in Heavenly Rest Cemetery (Hubertville Road) in Jeanerette, LA.
Military Honors will be rendered.
A visitation will be held at Fletcher Funeral Home on Saturday, June 7, 2025, beginning at 8:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
Mr. Wendell Ray Lewis was born on June 20, 1962, to the union of Charles and Emma Mae Young Lewis, Jr. He was a resident of Jeanerette, LA. Wendell departed his earthly life at 9:38 A.M. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at his residence to dwell in the house of Lord forever.
Wendell attained his education in the schools of Iberia Parish and was a graduate of Jeanerette Senior High School, Class of 1980. He then decided to enlist in the United States Navy to serve his country and was honorably discharged.
Mourning the departure of Wendell are his mother, Emma Mae Young Lewis; one son, Darien Kiel, Sr. (Brittaney); two daughters, Lucrentia Lewis-Green (Shelrick) and Samara Lewis; two sisters, Pastor Sonja Lewis and Cheryl Lewis; 15 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Lewis, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Charles and Doretha Lewis, Sr.; and maternal grandparents, Southern and Sarah Young.
Serving as Active Pallbearers are Javan Lewis, Deiondre' Lewis, DeVonte' Lewis, Shelrick Green, Sr., Jamaal Delasbour, and Patrick Jackson.
Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are Shelrick Green, Jr., Sheddrick Green, Kenneth Taylor, Darien Kiel, Sr., Jaden Delasbour, Wilfred Delasbour, Jr., and Jessie Liggins.
