Zachary John Griffin, affectionately known as "Griffin", "Griff", or "Zach", age 24, passed away February 8, 2025 in Gainesville, TX.
Zach was born December 27, 2000 in Gainesville, TX. He attended Era Schools and graduated from Era High School, where he excelled in football and basketball. Zach served three years in the U.S. Navy as a Boatswain and gunner, stationed at various times in Singapore, Spain, Cyprus, Italy, and most recently in Gaza supporting the humanitarian effort. He enjoyed music and fishing, but most of all, hiking in the hills of California.
Survived by: parents Noel and Regina (Beaver) Camberos; siblings Jacob, Fabian, and Zoe; grandmother Sheryl Beaver; grandparents Alfonso and Luisa Camberos; aunt and uncle Leslie and Russell Spence; uncle Jason Beaver; aunt and uncle Sandra and Elmer Campos; best friend Andy Bentley, and numerous other cousins and friends.
Predeceased by: grandfather J.R. "Rusty" Beaver.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 13, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville. A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, February 14, beginning at 10:00 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Mr. Griffin will be laid to rest at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas, following a committal service with military honors on Monday, February 17, at 11:00 a.m.
