Shirley Turner Smith, 85, of Lynchburg, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at New Mount Baptist Church Cemetery, Arrington, Va.

SHIRLEY TURNER SMITH WILL REMAIN A FOND MEMORY FOR ME AS I CONTEMPLATE OUR SOJOURN AT OUR BELOVED DUNBAR HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1957, AND AT THE MANY SCHOOL REUNIONS WHERE WE RECONNECTED UNDER THE INITIATIVE OF DANNY MC CAIN AND COMMITTEE.
