It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ruben Cruz, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, who left us on May 7, 2025, at the age of 49. Born on May 15, 1975, in Los Ángeles, California, Ruben lived a full and vibrant life that touched the hearts of many. He spent his final moments in Porterville, California, surrounded by love and the warmth of family.
Ruben was the cherished son of Luisa Cruz and was preceded in death by his father, Salvador Cruz. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Gabriela Cruz, with whom he shared a beautiful marriage for 27 years, filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Together, they nurtured a family that thrived on the bonds of affection and togetherness. Ruben is survived by his son, Ruben Jr. Cruz, and his daughter, Jazzmine Cruz, both of whom he adored and inspired with his kindness and dedication. He also leaves behind his mom, Luisa Cruz and brother, Salvador Cruz, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom will carry his memory in their hearts.
For three decades, Ruben dedicated himself to his work at Target, where he was not just an employee but a friend and mentor to many. His commitment to his job demonstrated his strong work ethic and the pride he took in providing for his family. Ruben's life was a testament to the values of hard work and resilience, which he instilled in those around him.
Ruben was known for his caring and loving nature, always ready with a listening ear or a helping hand. He had a passion for life that was evident in his hobbies and interests. He loved to listen to music, fire up the grill for a barbecue, and spend quality time with his friends and family. These gatherings were filled with laughter and joy, illustrating the strong familial ties he fostered throughout his life.
A funeral service to honor Ruben's life will be held at Porterville Funeral & Cremation Center on May 29, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate the legacy of a man who embodied love, kindness, and dedication.
Ruben Cruz will be profoundly missed but will remain forever in our hearts. His spirit will live on in the lives he touched, in the love he shared, and in the memories we hold dear. May he rest in peace.
