Edith Hood

Hood, Edith In Loving Memory ESCONDIDO -- Edith Hood, 80, died in Escondido on Saturday, January 4, 2014. Born on July 8, 1933 in Bennington, Oklahoma; she was the daughter of Bennett and Anna Wesley. She married the late Edgar Foster Hood in 1954. Edith was a full-blood Choctaw Indian. She relocated to California in 1952 and made many friends in the local community. She was a teacher, a seamstress, hairstylist and a Hollywood actress. She enjoyed attending pow wows, community events and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by five children: Randolph Hood, Flora Howe, John Hood, Lisa Burke and Richard Hood; and her sister, Carol Wesley. She is also survived by eight grandchildren: Elena Hood, Jessica Crowley, Stefanie Hood, Angelina Howe, Thomas Hood, Matthew Hood, Dallas Hood, and Moria Hood; as well as seven great- grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, January 11 in the Old Tribal Hall in Pala. Arrangements are by Alhiser-Comer Mortuary.
