Mary Snyder Obituary

Daretown, N.J.
Mary E. Snyder, age 83, of Delair and Daretown, NJ, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025. Born and raised in Delair, NJ and later resided in Daretown, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Ella(née Melvin) Hoffman. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Robert W. Snyder, Sr. and brother Charles Hoffman.
Mary retired from Del Monte Foods in 2003 where she worked as a maintenance engineer with a Black Seal Certification. Previously she was a Union Iron Worker at Hoeganaes Corporation as a forklift operator. They are providers of high-performance metal powders. There, she was one of First two women Union Ironworkers in New Jersey. She was there from 1980 until 1988.
Mary was a Deacon for many years at the Daretown First Presbyterian Church. Also in her retirement, she was a gardener, enjoyed some travel and loved the Phillies and Eagles.
Mary is survived by her 3 children Irene Bielecki (née Snyder) and husband Russ Cauley, Robert W. Snyder Jr, and his wife Diane, and Michael J. Snyder, wife Denise Snyder (deceased). She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Helena Ross husband Ryan Ross, Stephanie Bielecki Green husband Kyle Green, Andrew Snyder and wife Sarah, Amanda Snyder Mullins and Husband Wesley Mullins, Crystal Snyder and Michelle Snyder and Hunter Earhart. She has 3 great grandchildren Lillian Ross, Skyler and Cortana Green. She was also Step Great Grandmother to Russel, Mason and Riley Cauley.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 22 at 3:30pm at H.T. Layton Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 102 S. Main Street, Woodstown NJ. Friends are invited to visit from 2:30pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
The Family Requests In Lieu of Flowers to please make a donation to the following organizations:
ASPCA.org" target="_new" rel="nofollow">ASPCA.org, www.stjude.org (St Jude's Children's Cancer Hospital), a donation to your local Food Bank or your Church in honor Of Mary Snyder.
Memorial Contributions may also be made to the Presbyterian Church, 312 Daretown Rd. Elmer, NJ 08318
Her Family would invite friends and loved ones to share Fellowship and food at the Presbyterian Church Basement at 312 Daretown Rd. Elmer, NJ 08318 starting at 5PM following the service.
Arrangements are by the H.T. Layton Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
