Dorothy Louise Mundine Ryden
Born July 20,1930 – Died August 10, 2025
Dorothy passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 10, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband Leon Ryden, parents Douglass W Mundine, Sr and Florine Evard Mundine, brothers Douglass, Jr and Richard Mundine. She is survived by her sons, Larry(Janet), and Michael(Cathy), grandchildren, Greg(Angela), Kevin(Dawn), Megan Beal(Greg), and great-grandchildren, Will, Lily, Davis and Brooks.
Dottie was born in Rockdale, Tx and raised in Brenham, Tx where she graduated from Brenham High School. After graduating, she moved to Austin where she graduated from Durham Business School. In 1949, she met and married Leon Ryden. They were blessed to have two sons. Dottie was a homemaker until the boys were in Junior High. She went to work at DPS where she was a supervisor in the License Issuance and Driver Records Division for 28 years. She retired and became the best Grandma and Great-Grandma ever. She enjoyed watching her sons and grandchildren in their events, reading, watching western movies and was know as an excellent cook by one and all.
Our family would like to thank The Village at the Triangle Administrative Staff, St David's Hospital, Central Texas Rehab, Granite Mesa Nursing Home and Compassus Hospice for all the care that she was given during her brief illness.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 23, 2025 at Cook Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Blvd, Austin, Tx. There will be a visitation at 1:30pm followed by a 2pm service.
