Donald Phillips Obituary
Alton-Donald L. Phillips, Sr., 78, passed away Friday, May 23, 2025 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Born Feb. 21, 1947 in Alton, he was a son of Lindell C. Phillips, Sr. and Mabel (Benefiel) Phillips.
Don worked as a line laborer. He married Rita Faye Summers June 18, 1966 in Alton. She passed away June 23, 2006.
Survivors include his daughters, Tammy (Michael) Vonburg and Rebecca Phillips, all of Alton; and a son, Tim (Melissa) Phillips of East Alton; 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren; and four siblings, Charlotte Ingold, David Phillips, Lindell Phillips, Jr. , and Robert Phillips.
In addition to his wife; he was preceded in death by a son, Donald Phillips, Jr.; his parents; and brothers. Edward and Randy Phillips.
