Richard Smith Obituary

Richard Kent Smith Jr., of Youngwood, peacefully passed away on June 14, 2025, in Independence Health System Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, with family by his side. Rick was born on Sept. 20, 1955, in Mt. Pleasant, to the late Richard K. Smith Sr. and Roberta (Moore) Smith. Rick is survived by two sons, Preston Smith (Jamie) and Justin Smith (Jodi). He is also survived by three grandchildren, a sister and brother, two nieces, a nephew, and several great-nieces/nephews. In addition to his parents, Rick was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Heather Smith. Arrangements are under the care of the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 406 East Washington St., Mt. Pleasant, PA 15666 (724)-547-3800. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the funeral home in memory of Richard Kent Smith Jr. To offer a condolence or remembrance, please visit www.brooksfuneralhomes.com.
