Jo Schwartz Obituary

Jo Ann "Cookie" Schwartz, 64, of Stroud Township, passed away on Friday, January 17, in the Lehigh Valley Hospice House, Smithfield Township. She was the wife of Michael Schwartz with whom she shared 31 years of marriage. Born in East Stroudsburg, on November 21, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. Tamulis and Sandra Claire (Tyson) Shebby. A 1978 graduate of Stroudsburg High school, she was employed as dental assistant for Dr. Zacek until his retirement. She was last employed with MRO Corp until her retirement in December 2022. She was a life-long resident of Monroe County. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church, Stroudsburg and was active with the Boy Scout Troop 86 where she was a committee chairperson and treasurer. She was passionate about her garden and spending time with her granddaughter and family. In addition to her husband she is survived by a son, Scott Schwartz and fiancé Raven Gorden of Stroudsburg; a daughter, Alison Schwartz of Stroudsburg; a granddaughter, Ava Oney; sister, Sharon Wary of East Stroudsburg; a niece, Angela Viola of Charlotte, NC; and a nephew, William "Bill" Wary of Evans, GA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step father, Joseph S. Shebby. A viewing will be held on Friday, January 24 from 10 am - 12 pm at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main St., Stroudsburg, followed by a funeral service at 12 pm with the Rev. Ralph Chubbuck officiating. Burial will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery. Memorial remembrances may be made to Faith United Methodist Church, 1160 Clause Drive, Stroudsburg, PA 18360 or AWSOM, P.O. Box 13, Stroudsburg, PA 18360
