I just read Chris' story and I cant remember when I was so moved by American bravery.
As a citizen of our beloved country, I cannot thank him, as one of our brave warriors, enough for his sacrifice in the battle against terror and evil.
I hope and pray that his example lives on in the people he knows/knew best, and that you find some solace in knowing that your beloved son fought and died as a patriot, a hero, and a man worth remembering.

I grew up with Chris through middle and high school. We both attended Hoffmantown church and were frequently seen being goofy at Disciple Now and Summer Church Camp on the same teams. I will never forget him, his laughter, the joy we all shared, the friendships we cherished, and his sacrifice.

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and to also let the Adlesperger Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in Afghanistan. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one, Christopher S. Adlesperger US Marine Lance Corporal. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,

Today, my son LCpl Joshua Enokson (19) 3/5 H&S arrived in Afghanistan, I think of you and the many who have "paved" the way to what I pray is a somewhat "safer" deployment for my son. My heart is very heavy thinking of the ultimate sacrifice you suffered for our freedom. God Bless You and heal your broken heart.

Dear Parents of Lance CPL. Christopher S. Adlesperger,
I am sending my sincere heart felt condolences to your family. As a single parent, I have also lost my only son and only child at very young age of twenty-one. My heart is with all of your family while the tears fall from my face. I truly know most of the time people who have never lost a child can not relate. I understand all of your pain with deep compassion. There are no words to describe the intense pain you all feel each and every day without your precious son "Christopher!"

It seems hard to believe that four years have passed since Christopher made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedoms. As we sometimes rush through our busy lives, let us always remember to take the time to think of those that gave their lives for this country and try to do something every day that would make Christopher smile down on his fellow Americans. Should I make it to heaven someday, I would love to stand next to him, shake his hand, and thank him for his sacrifice and his example. May God Bless his family.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Christopher, but I am remembering
his service and sacrifice. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Dear Brave Lance Cpl. Christopher S. Adlesperger,
"How cool was that," indeed. Christopher, what a fine young man you are. You've shown us all that to be competitive is not to lose touch with those around you. Your uncle said you liked being around people. The activities you chose reflect that. Then you joined a large group of people to battle the forces of those trying so desperately to harm us. We are safe at night because of people like you. You served us all courageously and now we can ask no more of you. Rest in peace brave soul and revel in the warmth of God's love. Soon you and yours will delight in each other's company. Sleep well knowing you have done your best.

Lcpl. Christopher S. Adlesperger Family,
"..even in our sleep; pain which cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart.
Until, in our own despair, against our will; comes wisdom.
Through the awful Grace of God."
Those words are not mine.
Still, there is yet, any concievable words to lessen yours loss.
To say: Thank You, somehow, falls short of my intentions.
Though we may not personally know one another, I feel it my solemn duty to share my pain, from a distance.
Already a privilege I sadly acknowledge you, Christopher's family, will never know.
The balance of the cost for my freedoms and privileges of having the life I am afforded, I humbly acknowledge: Comes equally through your Noble and loving family's and son's utmost sacrifice.
Never forsaking your loss is without reflection, the sweetest debt I will ever have to pay.
So, I offer my heart to share your pain.
As a Retired Marine (1967-1970) WIA(2), Vietnam, I have felt the loss of brother Marines.
The debt from that loss and wisdom gained of forty years, is still being paid.
Saying that, I cannot approach the measure of your loss.
My thoughts and prayers are that in time Our Lord give you peace of mind and tender consolation.
To us who remain, Christopher S. Adlesperger will ever be honored with undying repect and the gratitude of his fellow Marines.
Past, present and most importantly..future Marines.
If only of that, I can assure you.
I remain semper fidelis, AJ Ramirez USMC (Ret.)

Annette,
I wanted you to know that I have thought often of you and your family and Christopher's sacrifice. Our son, who is preparing to embark on his 3rd deployment, went through bootcamp with Chris. Chris' death hit him hard. He spoke of what a fine man and Marine Christopher was. I have read of Christopher's brave actions on November 10th, the Marine Corps' Birthday. I have never forgotten about you, and as a mom, have thought of you often. I pray that time has softened the pain of your loss. We will NEVER forget you or Christopher or the sacrifice that you both made on behalf of our country. Semper Fi Annette ~

I just wanted to express my sorrow at the loss of Christopher. I feel I know him and I guess I do as he and my son went through boot camp together. My son, Sgt. Justin Heflin, has just recently re-enlisted into the Marine Corps and is waiting to attend EOD school. Justin has spoken to me about Christopher on several occassions. I know you are so very proud of Christopher. Christopher did not die in vain and gave his life protecting his fellow Marines! Semper Fi to you Christopher, be at peace and know that I, like many others, am honored and proud to share the title of Marine with you.

HI, i am a serving Royal Marine Commando from the uk. I have also served in iraq and afghanistan and have lost friends too. Marines the world over are A Band of Brothers. Your son didn't die in vain nor did anyone else. They died hero's and will always be remembered as so.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

To All Parents
“I’ll lend you for a little time a child of Mine,” He said.
“For you to love the While he lives and mourn for when he’s dead.
It may be six or seven years, or 22 or three,
But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me?
He’ll bring his charms to gladden you, and shall his stay be brief.
You’ll have his lovely memories as solace and relief.
“I cannot promise he will stay, since all from earth return,
But there are some lessons taught down there I want this child to learn.
I’ve looked the wide world over in my search for teachers true
And from the throngs that crowd life’s lanes I have selected you.
Now will you give him all your love, nor think the labor vain,
Nor hate Me when I come to take him back again?”
For all the joy Thy child shall bring, the risk of grief we’ll run.
We’ll shelter him with tenderness, we’ll love him while we may
And for the happiness we’ve known forever grateful stay;
But shall the angels call for him much sooner than we’ve planned.
We’ll brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand.”

To the Family of Lance Cpl. Christopher S. Adlesperger:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.

Chris was a dear friend to me. We spent 4 years at Eldorado High School getting to know eachother. We spent days talking about his love for his family, and how important it was to let everyone we know that we love them. "I will lift up my eyes to the hills-
from whence comes my help?
My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth."
Psalm 121:1-2
Hoping you continue to feel the thoughts of caring and support that surround you each day, as this Country remembers someone very precious to you, who is a Hero to all of us.
I am deeply sorry for your loss.

Christopher
was just like a brother to me. Even though I didn't know him that well,
my cousin told me all about him and I had some sort of connection with
him. Once they told me about his death, I felt like something inside
of me was missing. I will love Christopher always not matter what. May
his soul rest in heaven.

I was in the same platoon as Chris in boot camp. I would like to extend my condolences to his family and loved ones. He is definitely not forgotten. It is said that Heaven's gates are guarded by United States Marines. "Take your post Marine."

Christopher and dearest family, I hope you all know how much your family means to me. You will always be in my thoughts and prayers. I feel truly blessed and honored for his courage and devotion. I will always be forever grateful. After just losing my mom, (his great grandmother) I know that they are keeping each other in great company. I hope and pray that the heroic efforts he and many other service men and women are always remembered. God bless! Love always, Lizet R.

The Navy League of the United States, New Mexico Council, has expressed their 100% support to the New Mexico congressional delegation for the confirmation and award of our nation's highest honor for Lance Corporal Christopher Adlesperger. His example as one of our greatest Americans will live on in this state as long as there are God-fearing, flag waving people to sing his praises and recount his exploits. God Bless Christopher's family and may he live in our memories forever.

We just read the story about Christopher's courage and bravery in Fallujah. No words can express how proud we are of this young man and how grateful we are for his service to our nation. We're confident that St. Michael has welcomed this strong warrior into his command. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

My husband returned home from Albuquerque with the Oct. 5th Albuquerque newspaper and I read Christopher's story. I have no words to express how sorry I am for your loss. My 19 yr. old son is a Marine and is scheduled to go to Iraq next year. Reading of Christopher, I could have been reading my son's story - loved family and structure, quit college after a few weeks, bootcamp in San Diego, his USMC tatoo - it's all the same. I hope my son will live up to your son's example of true bravery, courage and honor and return to us safely. Christopher will always be a hero. Our prayers are with your family. Semper Fidelis.

I read the article about Christopher in the L.A. Times, and I am in awe of his spirit and courage. No life is lived in vain, and Christopher gave us a standard that we can use to measure greatness. It seems we always lose our best and brightest, perhaps that is why we continue to find new stars in the sky.

As a former Army Ranger I want to offer my sincerest sympathy for the loss of such a valiant warrior. I read the article about the Lance Cpl. after hearing about his heroics on the radio. All I can say is Semper Fi Marine and Fare Well. You, as always, are simply walking point for the rest of us and we will see you again.

I have no magic words that will ease the pain even after this long. All I can do is say thank you to Lance Corporal Adlesperger for being the kind of warrior...the kind of man that we all should be. And thank you to the Adlesperger family for molding Christopher into a real life hero. I will not forget.

I am a vet, and after reading an article about this brave young man, Cpl. Christopher Adlesperger and all the other young men who gave their lives for the freedom so that other could experience, I could not be more prouder for the heroic action of Cpl. Christopher Adlesperger. I hope that the United States of America honor what he has done and that the future youths of tomorrow always remember what sacrifice he made in order for them to have this freedom. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. God Bless You Christopher, God Bless America.

I just received this story from our Company XO here in Quantico, VA. As a new Lieutenant about to enter the fleet and lead young Marines like Lance Cpl. Adlesperger I could not be more proud and delighted to serve with such brave young men and women. God bless you!

Being a former Marine, I would like all who read this to know that this young man is a "real" american hero. I hope he is awarded the Medal of Honor that he certainly deserves for his heroic actions in battle in the county of Iraq.
