Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Brown

In Waterbury, on Sunday, August 30, 2009, Elizabeth (Betty) Kuhn Brown, long time resident of Guilford. Wife of the late Lindsay L. Brown, Jr. Born on Aug. 24, 1924 in Southampton, MA, daughter of the late Richard and Florence Stanford Kuhn. Mother of Lloyd S. Brown and his wife Linda of Guilford. Sister of Richard Kuhn of MA, Marion Powers of MN and Patricia Butt of NC. Also survived three grandchildren, Adam Brown, Eric Brown and Neil Brown and three great grandchildren. Predeceased by a son, Charles L. Brown, a brother, William Kuhn and a sister, Margaret (Peg) Madsen. Betty had been a volunteer caregiver privately to several people and to many with the VNA in Guilford, along with donating her time to Meals on Wheels. She was also very actively involved at the First Congregational Church, Guilford, where she served as a Church Deaconess, headed and worked tirelessly for the Dried Flowers Committee for the annual Church Harvest Fair, knit prayer shawls for the sick, and helped arrange receptions with the Alpha Club. Funeral services will be held in the First Congregational Church, 122 Broad St, Guilford on Monday, Sept. 7, at 11am. Burial was held privately at Alder Brook Cemetery, Boston St, Guilford. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Betty's memory may be made to Meals on Wheels, Sachem Hollow, 310 St, Suite # 200, Guilford, CT 06437.
