Sylvia, Suzanne, Joel, Elizabeth, & Family,
My heart is saddened to hear of Mait's passing.
He was always there for his family, his church, and his community.
On a personal note, I have fond memories of him and Royce Knowles packing up and carrying the handbells in and out of the cars for Riverside Ringers.
Sylvia, you are strong and you will get through this. I will be contacting you.
Love,
Your Friend, "Marthie"

Dear Sylvia,
Although he was always "Mr. Richardson" to me when I spoke to him - the "Mait" we all respected and down-right liked being around as kids is in my heart these days - and you and Joel and Suzanne and Elizabeth are in my thoughts. I'm truly glad I got to talk with him again last month, and hear that downhome voice of distinction one more time. For all of us, the echoes abide and will continue.
With love to all of you,
Nathan Dana

Brad and I are so very sorry for your loss. We truly understand how much life will change for all of you (us) without Maitland among us, but the memories will certainly remain. We know mom (Marilyn) would feel saddened by this news, so we feel it wise to keep it from her under the circumstances. Our love to you all.

Whenever Maitland spoke, people stopped and listened. He was the voice of reason, intellect and compassion. His presence in the community as a leader and friend will surely be missed. I will always have fond memories of Maitland. He was truly a person to be respected and admired. My sincere condolences to the family. I am saddened by his passing.

Dear Sylvia,
I am very saddened by the passing of Maitland, and extend to you and your children my deepest sympathy. Mait was a man whose actions spoke much louder than words. When he chose to run for the state legislature, many people his age were already sitting in rocking chairs, but not Mait! Although his and my politics were often at odds, his passion for his beliefs could only stir the utmost respect for him. As I told my former Skowhegan Rotary members, I feel like I am a better person for having known Maitland Richardson.

To the Richardson family, I worked for Maitland during the late 1970's and was a neighbor for a couple of years. Maitland was a great friend and a dedicated family man. I wish you all the best during this difficult period.
