George, I knew you from CCD through high school at St. John Vianney. Many years past between then and 9/11/01 and we lost touch. I found out that you and my husband's good friend, Arthur Jones, were friends from work at Carr Futures on 12/31/01. During a memorial fundraiser for Art Jones in Arthur's home town of Hampton Bays, NY I met another mutual friend of yours from Carr Futures. They wanted to contact your parents to share some fond memories of you. If anyone can put me in touch with George's parents please let me know. Please email me at [email protected].
and please put George McLaughlin in the subject.
Thank you!

19 Septembers and 35 years now since I last saw you. I had a few beers in your honor tonight. I also had a few to honor a FDNY firefighter that played on the Wesley Football Team that was a few years before us, Firefighter Peter Alexander Bielfeld (age 44) Shield #1699 of FDNY Ladder 42/Engine 73 Bronx New York. At Wesley, he wore No. 42.
Once again, Thanks for being a friend to all of us at Wesley College. As I said before, you will never be forgotten by us. Keep the beers cold Brother, we will all see you again one day...in Valhalla.

Hello. We never met Mr. McLaughlin but we have said many prayers for him. Several years ago, the high school that two of my boys attended (Mount Saint Joseph) had a memorial prayer service on 9/11. The school lined the school grounds with small American flags. Each flag had a tag with the picture and name of a 9/11 victim. One of our flags had the information for Mr. McLaughlin. We have said a prayer for our flag victims and their families each year. Sending love and hugs from Maryland.

George;
18 Septembers now, and 34 years since I last saw you. I was just remembering the time where me, you, and Belushi(JD), drove up to State Line and saw Huey Lewis and the News, what a good time we had. Another time was when we went to a party at the sports-fitness club, I think Sean rented the place for a school party, well you, Frank, Boo, and a few others piled into Belushi's car, and I had to ride back in the trunk, man was that a crazy night! Once again, Thanks for being a friend to all of us. As I said before, you will never be forgotten by us. Keep the beers cold Brother, we will all see you again one day...in Valhalla.

George;
15 Septembers now, and 31 years since I last saw you, by that time I believe you were living in Budd Hall at Wesley. I had left the school, but I stopped by to visit some of the old gang, because I was in the Navy Reserves, which was down Route 1 in Lewes. As usual(as If I had never left school) you were the first person I saw, we talked for a little while and you were so interested in what I was doing, you barely talked about yourself.
Even after all this time and now 30 years in the Navy, I have never met anyone like you. As Dave said, you were one of a kind. Thanks for being a friend to all of us. As I said before, you will never be forgotten by us.

Georgie, You've been on my mind a lot lately...quite often I find myself looking at the time & it reads: 9:11, either am or pm, and I actually think of you, smiling down on us, saying "hi!" Just in the way you use to greet me at the gym, where we worked out in Hoboken. You always knew how to make me laugh, even when I wasn't in the mood for it, you found a way to make me smile. I miss that silly, sweet George. But, I know you are up there in heaven, smiling down on your family and friends all the time. We miss you! May the beautiful memories we all have of you stay close in our hearts. God Bless.

Georgie, I bet you and Big Jim are having a lot of laughs up there! I wish you both would come visit me in a dream sometime so I can see you smiling together. I can't believe you had been friends for so long. You must have met before age 15. And you're still together. Whenever I think about Jimmy I will always think about you as well. George, You will always have a place in my heart right next to my brother Jimmy!

Hi George, Well I guess you know by now that the big (Tuna) Bill Parcells could not get the Cowboys to the big one this year. I guess we have to be very happy that he was able to get them back into the play offs to begin with, well perhaps next year. I want you to know that we all think about you all the time and we all know that you are better off then we are. I am sure I can say this on behalf of everyone "WE MISS YOU" may GOD hold you in his palms. I also pray that GOD protects your family and continues to give them the strenght to go on.

Dear George Patrick,
I just wanted you to know that on your second anniversary in heaven, you are remembered every day more and more. We will never ever forget. May GOD continue to bless the entire McLaughlin family and friends. Oh Georgie I hear that your a Cowboy fan, then you already know that we have the TUNA so maybe this will be the year for the superbowl. I have not had the pleasure of knowing you George, but I did have the honor of working with your dad George Sr. and your sister (Red) and for that friendship I feel as if I knew you. I just want you to know George that we will always remember you and all the lost loved ones. We will continue to ask God to protect and to give your family the strength to move on and to know that you will always, always be in our hearts and prayers

I first met George when we started school together in kindergarten. It's true, he was always smiling and just enjoyed everyday. He always found a way to bring laughter (sometimes to the annoyance of teachers) to the most boring classes. I recall a frog that was supposed to be dissected dancing ballet across the desk first. After graduation from high school I never saw George again. We were not "close" friends so we did not keep in touch. But when you spend that many years together, day-in and day-out, you can't help but to be friends on some level. When I learned that George was among the missing, I was shocked. From my house near the beach I could see the smoke from the towers and I prayed that he would come out alright. My deepest sympathies and condolences go out to his parents and sisters. He will missed.

Dear Georgie,
I think about you a lot...
I think about your smile,
that smile that starts in your heart and connects to others through your eyes.
I think about your laugh,
that laugh that exudes boyish charm and entreats others to enjoy life.
I think about your family, your mother, father and sisters
who love you unconditionally
and gave you the capacity to love others freely and without judgment.
I think about your extended family,
brothers(in-law), aunts, uncles, cousins, nephew,
who you draw close
and with whom you create an impenetrable bond.
I think about your friends,
friends like family, who share memories of merry pranks, parties
and after midnight talks that still resound.
I think about you a lot Georgie.
I think about the pain of not being able to embrace you in an everlasting hug
and I think about the joy of the hugs we shared that will be felt forever.
Dear Georgie,
We miss you alot...

In light of all that has happened and the year that has gone by since this horrible tragedy, I have taken the time to reflect on the several people who I knew and that many of us lost. George many times in college created fun and wonderful (sometimes crazy!) times that spread onto many, many, many people.
I want to say that he was a great guy and the memories will never fade. My deepest condolences go out to his family whom I knew ment the world to him. God bless all the friends as well who George also embraced as extended family, and most of all please know George that we will never EVER forget you. May god be with you and thanks for sharing a piece of your life with me.

George, you were my brother, Big Jim's best friend. Thank you for always being there for him! He loved you so much. He misses your phone calls. Georgie-its been almost a year since you've been gone yet i think about you every day. I have a picture of you taped to my computer at work and home-and whenever i feel sad i look at your picture and smile right back at you. I feel cheated that I didn't get to know you all that well, but the times at little Johnny's birthday party I will never forget... The Boss is coming back to town-something I know you'd like to see..and I have a feeling inside that from up in Heaven you will watch the concert..you are so missed...and I know that one day I will see you again...

The cowardly attack on our country became painfully personal when I saw George's smiling face on the news a few days afterwards. George was a peacemaker-a guy who brought people together with his warmth and easy laugh. I was George's roomate our freshman year in college and I can't tell you how many nights we laughed our heads off..I am sure many, many people know exactly what I mean..George had the gift of being contagious-he would spread his laughing and friendliness to every single person he came in contact with..I could not attend his service but I want his family to know I pray for them and that their pain be diminished by loving memories of George..God Bless

I worked with George a very long time ago, 10 years ago to be exact, at Dean Witter Futures. He was such a great guy and such a practical joke. He made you feel so welcome and always kept us laughing because of the silly things he did and said. I just found out , after 6, months that George had been one of the victims and it just broke my heart to know he is no longer with . But if I remember George correctly, he will be having everyone laughing and carrying on in hEaven for that is where he will be safe and partying. My deepest sympathies goes out to the family and my prayers too. MAY THE GOOD LORD ALWAYS BLESS YOU GEORGE... YOU ARE SADLY MISSED!!!

When I heard the names of those missing, I feard that it would be George from Matawan. This fear was confirmed when I saw his smile and his eyes and immediately knew it was the same George I grew up with riding mopeds and playing wiffleball in the Mclaughlin back yard. Whle I had not been in touch with George in over 10 years, my thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I hadn't seen George too often since we both graduated college, but when we did run into each other, it was always as if we had never stopped hanging out. He was always a friend and flashing that smile. I remember him from my late teens/early twenties as getting along with everyone and making each person feel like they were of value to him(we all were). George remains just a great guy in my mind.

We are very sorry for your loss of George. Our hearts cry with you.
America Cries
We see your sorrow-
and our hearts cry....
We can not erase your pain
but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-
-the American people-
are beside you.
We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,
the strength that gives you courage,
and the words to lighten your spirits.
And when we are left speechless
may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts
to ease your sorrow.
May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-
-the American people-
face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
