William Wingfield Obituary

William Homer Wingfield, age 86, our beloved husband and father of Midlothian, Virginia, left us on this earth on December 5, 2005. After a long struggle with cancer, he died peacefully with his family beside him. He leaves his wife, Nancy, whom he was married to for 58 years; his daughter, Janet and husband, Bill Schell of Murray, Kentucky; his eldest son, Glenn and wife, Kathy of Chesterfield, Virginia; and his youngest son, David and wife, Theresa of Gaithersburg, Maryland. In addition, he is survived by grandchildren, Jonathan, Ellis, Megan, Katie, Taylor and Nicholas; as well as great-granddaughter, Tatum; and the many friends that he touched in his life. He had retired from his duties as Deputy Commissioner of Revenue of Chesterfield County and was a decorated World War II veteran, who served in the Philippines for our nation. The family will receive friends and family on Saturday, December 10 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Bliley's Funeral Home, Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Road, Richmond, Virginia, for remembrance, honor and prayer. Sunday, December 11 at 2 p.m., there will be a graveside service for all who wish to attend at Dale Memorial Park, 10210 Newbys Bridge Road, Chesterfield, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, we request that donations be made the St. Jude Children's Hospital Cancer Unit so we all can hopefully, one day find a cure to this dreaded disease.
