Bobby L. White

Bobby Lynn White, age 79, of Manila, passed from this life early Saturday at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born at Manila, he was the son of the late Albert and Oshia Shedd White and was a lifelong Manila resident. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, was a retired banker, and along with his wife, Zetta, owned and operated White's Grocery for many years. Mr. White served 34 years with the Manila Fire Department and several years on the Manila Cemetery Board. He also served 10 years on the Mississippi County Quorum Court, was a Shriner, and a 32nd Degree Mason. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Zetta Jackson White of the home. 2 Sons: Michael White and his wife, Cindy, of Manila Barry White and his wife, Dee, of Memphis 1 daughter: Mrs. Leigh Ann Leslie and her husband, Sam, of Kingston, Tennessee 1 brother: Jimmy White of Manila 1 sister: Mrs. Anita Beasley of Atkins, Arkansas He also leaves 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral Service will be 10:30 Tuesday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. William Piercy officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery with members of the Manila Fire Department serving as active and honorary pallbearers.
