Mrs. Claudia Mary Henriette Sarrasin, 86 years, of Nipigon, Ontario, formerly of Red Rock, Ontario, passed away peacefully, on Friday, July 15, 2016 in the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, Thunder Bay, Ontario. Claudia was born in Pinewood, Ontario in 1927. She was the bookkeeper for her husband's company A. Sarrasin. Her home and family were her life. Predeceased by her parents Rene Legros and Florence Miller, by her husband of 67 years Alpherie Sarrasin (2014), by her daughter Bernadette in infancy, by her brothers – Urgel, Lorenzo, Daniel and Clement (in infancy), by grandchildren – Matthew (in infancy) and Anthony and Collin Becker and by great granddaughter Constence - Marie; she is survived by eleven children – Gerald (& Jocelyne) of Red Rock, Norman (& Karen) and Joanne (& Maurice) Fortin both of Nipigon, Noella (& John) Bouley, Gisele Sarrasin and Helene Sarrasin all of Thunder Bay, Adele (& Milton) Becker and Ronald (& Dora) both of Slave Lake, Alberta, Claude (& Norma) of Bruderhein, Alberta, Rene of Trenton, Ontario and Angele (& Larry) Walton of Virden, Manitoba, by thirty-one grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and by sisters-in-law – Lucy Legros of Dryden, Ontario and Elsie Legros of Thunder Bay. Numerous in-laws also survive. Resting at St. Hilary's Church in Red Rock where friends may call after 4 P.M. on Monday, July 18, 2016. Prayers will be offered at the church at 7 P.M. The funeral mass for Claudia Sarrasin will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at 11 A.M. at St. Hilary's Church in Red Rock with Father D. Adaza officiating. Interment will be in Cliffside Cemetery, Nipigon. Friends so wishing may make donations to the Nipigon District Memorial Hospital or to St. Hilary's Church. Arrangements are in the care of Elliott Funeral Home Ltd., Nipigon.
