Richard Bruce WALKER

1931 - 2022

WALKER, Richard Bruce Bruce lived, and died on his own terms at home. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his children. Predeceased in 2019 by the love of his life Grace (Stevens) with whom he shared 70 years of laughter and tears. He will be sadly missed by children Karen (Don), Richard Steven and Constance, as well as granddaughters, Adelaide and Alexandra Attard. In retirement, Bruce was able to spend more time painting and writing, as well as travelling with Grace. His career included advertising, film commercials, animation, graphic design, script writing and general creative "dogsbody" work. Bruce worked at Cockfield, Brown, Lesser Studios, McKim Advertising and with various clients, as a freelance communicator. Grace and Bruce lived in London, U.K., Vancouver and Peterborough, but Toronto was always home. The family is truly grateful to the Dorothy Ley Hospice Palliative team, LHIN Community Care and Thornbrook Home Care, who all helped provide support and home care. Friends may call at the Turner & Porter Yorke Chapel, 2357 Bloor St. W., at Windermere, east of the Jane Subway, on Monday, May 16, 2022 from 10-11 a.m., with a Funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Dorothy Ley Hospice would be welcome.
