David was my dog's veterinarian when I lived in Houston 30 years ago. Since then, I've lived all over the country and now finally back somewhat near Houston. I was just about to take my dog to his new vet and I thought of David. I was so sad to see he is not with us any longer. What a compassionate, smart and kind man. He touched the lives of so many that I'm sure the family is not even aware of - Much sympathy to the family.

I was sorry to hear of David's death. We were in the same class in Bartlesville, and lived next door. I do remember he and his dad had a great sense of humor and that David always wanted to be a vet when he was in junior high. I remember his assembling a giant model bumblebee at the time.

I lost track of him other than knowing he was practicing in Tulsa. I'm also sorry to learn that he was here in Houston where I have been since 1991.

David Shell was a awesome veteranarian to many animals in Houston, but foremost he was a father and husband to great children and a loving wife. He was my uncle and I am proud of his accomplishments personally as well as professionally. Rest is peace Uncle David and go have that game of catch with sweet Bryan that has been waiting for you. Peace be with you Aunt Carmen, Cousins Zachary, Rebecca and Stephan. In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.
