Tony, know that you are loved and missed. Every Parole Officer in NJ owes you and your family a debt for the amount of time and energy you devoted to getting our officers armed and into PFRS. My family's future and that of countless parole officers hired since 1994 have forever been improved by your tireless efforts. Thank you brother. God bless Phyllis and the rest of the Sgro family.

Getting to know Tony through working with him at the New Jersey State Parole Board, I was quick to learn how valuable he was to the agency and to the PBA. He was never to busy to take time to assist me when i was a new officer. You will be truly missed. Also, I remember the fun times we had playing golf. My prayers are with you and your family. RIP

Dear Phyllis and family, you have lost a husband and father, we have lost a great man and New Jersey's Parole Officers have lost a great friend. Tony was one of the driving forces in establishing all NJ Parole Officers as sworn law enforcement officers. Thank you for sharing him with us. There were many nights when we drove to New Brunswick for union meetings while you cared for Lori Jean and the rest of the family. This effort by Tony ultimately lead to where we are today in the law enforcement community. He wasn't driven by ambition, but doing what was right for others. He was a selfless friend that I will miss always. I hope that you and your family will be able to cope with the loss of such a great man. Rest in peace Tony. Your legacy lives on in your family and your fellow officers.

I worked with Tony years ago at the Courthouse, when he was starting out as a Court Aid, and assigned to Judge Rubin. We had many laughs, and he was certainly one of the "good guys". Semper Fi, Tony from a Navy Wave. RIP

It was a pleasure to work with Tony for many years at the New Jersey Department of Corrections and the New Jersey State Parole Board. He was a man who always went out of his way to help others. Tony always talked about how much he loved his family; they meant the world to him. There is no finer testament to a man than to be able to say that he devoted his life to his wife, children, and grandchildren. I know that Tony's family is suffering a tremendous loss by his passing. My prayers are with you all.
