I was just looking through a box of old pictures last week and I ran across some pictures of Ronnie and his brother Burtis. Boy, did the memories flood back..... At their house after school, going to the pool at Talladega College in the summertime, attending summer parties, band practice, riding on the back of his and his brothers motor bikes. I was planning to give Ronnie a call but I pushed the thought aside for later. Then I was told that he was gone. What a heartbreak! I extend my deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

First my prayer goes out to Patty, Ron Junior, Angel and the entire Mabra family. Ron and I "go to meetings and events friends" over four decades. We were charter members of the Alpha Phi Alpha Nu Mu Lambda Chapter in Dekalb County, GA. Ron and I became members of the 100 Black Men of Atlanta within a year of each other. Ron was in the food distribution business and I was in the food product distribution business. Ron was born in Alabama, and both of my parents were born in Alabama. Our paths would cross from time to time and we would see each other at Mardi Gras in Mobile. I tried to copy his laid back, calm but happy demeanor...but I have failed miserably...but I will try to get better.

The morning of his death he was at Home Grown Restaurant doing what he loved seeking out new customers... A dear kind man that loved his family and sharing pictures of his grandsons. He loved them so much they will be proud of their grand dad. He was proud of his Succesful children as well.
Ron was not only well dressed, attractive but smart. He was a Class act and kind. And not a bad golfer. Ron was funny, and was all ways smiling. Ron would state " He was country by the Grace of God" he was so far from that.

We are in shock and my heart goes out to his family.

We miss him and we kept checking if this is true... our hearts are full.

Bye aka FAR..raise a cold beer and toast to a Full life of a very successful and loving Man.
