Antonio Carbonell, M.D. (Tony) June 13, 1932 June 23, 2005 A viewing will be held at Greenlawn Southwest Mortuary on Thursday, June 30 from 3:00P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and on Friday, July 1st from 1:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a prayer vigil and Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Funeral mass will be held at St. Philip The Apostle on Saturday, July 2 at 9:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Park. Tony Carbonell was born in the Philippines on June 13, 1932 and earned his medical degree from Far Eastern University in 1957. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1962. He received his medical training in Ohio and New Jersey and worked at St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, Weehawken, New Jersey, and Boron, California before eventually moving to Bakersfield in 1975. He was in private practice and has been associated with Valley Medical Group for the last 17 years until his untimely demise on June 23, 2005. He liked to travel, loved the game of golf and enjoyed playing blackjack. Tony is survived by his wife of 41 years, Dr. Emma Carbonell; sons, Tony Jr. and Arthur; sister, Milagros; brother, Claro; daughter-in-law, Clare; grandson, Matthew; and numerous relatives and friends.
