James Johnson Obituary

James Carson Johnson, Jr. "JC" CHARLOTTE - JC, 67, passed away peacefully at Levine & Dickson Hospice Center on Sunday, February 7, 2016. His grandchildren were his world and kept his spirits up the most, despite his pain. He never hesitated to help anyone in any way he could. He was selfless and very giving. He was a drummer and lead singer in many bands through the years, such as "Soul Brothers," "Act III," and "The Boardwalk Band." He was a member at Eastway Christian Church, prior to becoming a member of First Baptist Church of Matthews. JC worked for Piedmont Airlines and USAirways. He then went to work at B&E A/C & Heating and Food Lion in Matthews. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Johnson of 45 years; three daughters, Malisa Robertson (Jeff), Jamie Johnson, and DeeDee Robinson; seven grandchildren, Haley Johnson, Sydney and Stephanie Robertson, Carson Ferguson, Zachary Robinson, Jaxon and Nathan Sellinger; and his sister, Gail Johnson. We will celebrate his life with a Memorial Service, Friday, February 12, at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church of Matthews.

JC was successful at being a human being. He wore a beautiful smile at all times for everyone to see. JC was polite, smart, honest, considerate, talented, funny, and blessed with a beautiful family he took so much pride in. I knew JC while working at B&E. When he learned that I adore a kiss on the forehead, he would plant one at times I was in need of cheering up and that would make me laugh and smile. Once a month he treated us to lunch, where we would talk about his wife, Charlotte, and things he was doing around his home. Home improvements was a hobby that came second to his first: singing and playing drums. I attended several of the Johnson family's lavish Christmas parties where his rock band had set up in the living room. These are memories that will be with me forever. I wish his family peace and comfort. The last I saw JC was two months ago when we ran into each other at Food Lion after not having been in touch for many years, and he was his usual smiling self. He will be missed, but not forgotten, and will be remembered for his special kindness and the great qualities he had.

JC was his name at B&E Air and Heat. JC was the most Popular guy with all out customers and the employees. When JC went on a Service Call or a clean and check he talked to the customers. Not just check a system out and run down the road. If the customer wanted to talk about heating and air or talk about there kids ball game he was there to listen. After the first year of working for me, my customers would ask for JC Johnson. It could be hot or cold in there house, the customers would put off the service call just to see JC. We can't replace a man like this. I just am glad I got to know JC and his family. He was the best. Heaven just got a up grade.
Love you JC Johnson
