Please accept my belated condolences for the loss of a most remarkable person and beloved Family member. Professor yes, Teacher, absolutely. I just re-visited the 1962 edition of Chemical Calculations and once again came to appreciate his undaunted dedication to "teaching" difficult topics to others through examples and clear explanations. I first encountered the 1962 edition in 1963 when I, my Wife Margie, and 5 month old Son Joseph Gregory returned to Urbana to continue my education. The 18th ed. of Chemical Calculations is a fitting legacy for future generations to learn from and to refer to when authoritative information is needed. His memory will live far into the future of all students of chemistry. Thank you Professor Sackheim.

To Ruth, Susie, and Jackie,I am so sorry for your loss. I know your father was a brilliant man, who adored his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. You have all said the kindest words about your dad. I feel as though I know him even though I have never met him. May he Rest In Peace and be reunited with your mom.Much love,Judi Bank

My condolences to the Sackheim family. I was privileged to have him as a teacher at the University of Illinois and personally when I became friends with Ruth. I nice,
friendly, gracious man. He will be missed.
