James J. Kotlin

James J. Kotlin, age 90 of Downers Grove, IL. Beloved husband of the late Antoinette (2010). Loving Father of Nancy L. Caring brother of the late Margaret, the late Dorothy. Dear Brother-in-Law of John Guarnaccia, Mary Randall and Tony Guarnaccia. Cherished uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. James served in the Marines, Received a Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from MIT ranked second in his class. Joined Electro-Motive in 1948 as a test mechanic, where he met his wife, promoted to engineer in 1949, named assistant chief design engineer in 1966, chief of design in 1967, assistant chief engineer in 1979 and named Engineering Director until his retirement in 1987. Had several patents on diesel engines.
