I would like to extend my condolences to John's family at this most difficult of times. I heard of John's passing just recently through the PCHS Alumni Newsletter, as I was a year ahead of him there years ago. I'm always saddened when God calls someone home so soon, but have faith to know it's all part of His plan.

I was a neighbor of John's. I have 2 dogs and knew John because I saw him outside with his dog, Cory. I know in the end it didn't work out but I was very impressed by hard he tried to train his dog. It said a lot about the kind of person he was.

God bless all of you during this very hard time. John was--and still is--such a wonderful man, loved by all who knew him, and cherished by God. Save us a seat in heaven, John. We know you'll be waiting to greet all of us. I'll never forget the fun we had, singing in choir, laughing around the piano, and telling jokes. You will be missed, but I look forward to seeing you again.

"Uncle" John, one of my most fondest memories growing up was of you driving me around paw paw lake in Uncle Jacks speed boat. I thought you were the coolest guy in the world. So sad to hear you've passed. You will be sorely missed. God Bless.

John - you will be missed. So very sad. When I think of spending time at the house in New Lenox my memories are of you playing the piano, playing natives in the front yard with you and Maureen and always laughing and smiling. Praying for strength for the entire family during this time.

Dear Mrs. Greenfield and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. It is truly a loss for all that knew John. I had many times when John would make me laugh so hard that whatever I was drinking came out my nose. He had the gift of making you laugh. May your wonderful memories of him comfort you at this time of loss and missing!! Patty (Bingham) Bertucci

My brother was smart, funny, creative, independent, and sensitive. He talked about staying up late with his friends on game nights. He shared this passion with his nieces and nephews. He also would take them to plays just as our mom took us. Although my kids were more mature and didn't laugh at the men in tights like we did. Mom was so mad, trying to keep the"city" in us even when we moved to the country. You kept the city in you. You were "Cool Uncle John" I can't believe you're gone.

John worked with me at Blue Cross Blue Shield Association in the late 1990s/early 2000s. He created a tracking and billing database for our Team - and he and I bumped heads trying to make it perfect - and it was! No other piece of software could touch it! We remained friends and have seen many movies together ... I will never forget him jumping at the loud noises of The Sixth Sense. :) I remember game nights ... and trips to museums ... and our discussions about growing up on the south side of Chicago. John will be missed.
