Mark Prim Obituary

*3004 Mark Prim.jpg> Mark Alan Prim, 54, of Topeka, passed away of cancer, at his home on Friday, May 28, 2004. Mark was born Sept. 12, 1949, in Livingston, Mont., to Albert and Lorraine Prim. He graduated from St. Mary s Grade School and Park High School in 1967, both in Livingston, where he excelled in both track and football. Mark served in the Air Force from 1968 to 1972 and was stationed at the Grand Forks Air Force Base in Grand Forks, N.D. In October of 1972, Mark went to work for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. Mark also drove a school bus for St Mary s School and Grand Forks School District from 1990 through 1997. In 1997, their family moved to Topeka. While in Grand Forks, Mark was a member of St. Mary s Parish, served on the St. Mary s Parish council and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. On Sept. 19, 1970, he married Carol Jean Nelson. Mark shared his life with her and their children, Amy Erickson and her husband David, Tope ka, Dustin Prim and his wife, Tonya, Bemidji, Minn., Anne Wardner and her husband, Eric, Topeka, Dylan Prim and Alexis Prim, both of Topeka; grandsons, Adam and Ian Erickson and Elijah Wardner, all of Topeka, until the time of his death. Mark also is survived by his sisters, Marcia Abbott, Ridgefield, Wash., Marie Kinnick, Livingston, Mont., and Marilyn Applegate, Cody, Wyo.; brothers, Michael Prim, Spokane, Wash., and Miles Prim, Gilbert, Ariz. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Mitchell Prim. Visitation will be Tuesday 6 to 8 p.m. at St. Matthew s Church with a parish rosary to be recited at 7 p.m. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Matthew s Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to American Cancer Society, St Jude s Childrens fund or Midland Hospice. Online condolences may be sent to www.kevinbrennanfamily.com .
