James Martin Obituary

James was born in Weed, New Mexico on October 1, 1945. He was the son of Harry James and Edna Elsie Martin. James passed away in Conroe, Texas on January 24, 2017 at the age of 71.

James proudly served in the US Marine Corps during Vietnam Era. He received a Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and a Good Conduct Medal. He served from January 1964 till December of 1966. James received an Honorable Discharge and transferred to the Marine Corps Reserve. He worked as a truck driver for Montgomery County for many years. James enjoyed being outside and most of his work-related jobs were always done outside. He was a machinist, he never married and he loved and adored his nieces and nephews, and his great-nieces and great-nephews that all survive him today. One sister also survives James, Billie Jean Lynch. James's Father and Mother, three sisters Helen "Ginger" Lawson, Audrey Brookshire, and Elizabeth Ann Vyoral, as well as one brother Robert Martin have all preceded him in death. Heaven has gained a Hero today and we will keep his treasure in our Hearts forever.
