JOHN MacISAAC Obituary

John Mac- Isaac, 75, of Schenectady, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at Ellis Hospital. Born in Albany on February 16, 1935, he was the son of the late Joseph Leonard and Josephine (nee: Miller) MacIsaac. He was raised and educated in Schenectady and was a lifelong area resident. John proudly served with the United States Army. He was a communicant of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Schenectady. He was employed by the City of Schenectady and Town of Rotterdam as an assessor for many years until his retirement. Additionally, he was a democratic president of the sixth ward of Schenectady. John is survived by two step-sons, Bill Plath and Larry Coast, both of Schenectady; his brother, Austin (Sandra) Mac- Isaac of Port St. Lucie, FL; his sisters, Mary (Hank) Pritchard, Shirley Meuse, Josie (Frank) Peeney and Virginia (Gene) Stoddard, all of Schenectady; his special friends, Bruce MacDonald of Esperance and Karen Johnson of Schenectady; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Stephen MacIsaac and J. Leonard MacIsaac; and one sister, Betty Lancto. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 8:30 a.m. at Griswold Funeral Home, 1867 State St., Schenectady, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9 a.m at St. Paul the Apostle Church, Schenectady. Interment will be held in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
