Doyle Conner Obituary
Hon. Doyle Edward Conner, Sr., 83, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2012 following prolonged ill health.
Mr. Conner will lie in state at Florida's Historic Capitol from 12 o'clock noon until 2:00 P.M., EDT, Thursday, December 20th. The Conner family will receive guests during this period in the House of Representatives Chamber of the Historic Capitol, where Mr. Conner once presided as Speaker of the House.
The funeral service will follow at 3:30 P.M., EDT, Thursday, December 20th at the First Baptist Church in Tallahassee, 108 West College Avenue. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Tallahassee.
Survivors include two sons, Doyle E. Conner, Jr. of Monticello and Bryant Conner of Tallahassee; his daughter, Kimberly Conner Tharpe, also of Tallahassee; his sister, June Vaughn of Lake City; and his brother, Glenn Conner of Orlando. Mr. Conner is also survived by six grandchildren, Caitlyn Gilmore, Cassidy Gilmore, Colter Gilmore, Nicole Honcell, Justin Honcell and Lindsey Carpenter.

Doyle Jr., Kim, and Bryant , I am so sorry to hear of Doyle's passing. I was out of town last week and did not know until yesterday. I am so sorry that we haven't been in touch the last few years. R.D. and Doyle were more than the best of friends and as you know we are family. I guess Doyle, Lat Turner, Pat Wilson, Charlie Lykes, old' Ralph Cellon, Daddy, and all the other old Cracker Cowboys are having a fine reunion up above. I am so sorry I was not here to be with you all. Your Dad was a marvelous man, a great Gator, and a true servant of the state of Florida. We love you and hope to see you. We have lost cell ph. no.'s with Little Doyle but Dicky's is 850-209-6136. Love you all and please call when you can.

Doyle was a wonderful man, living and working on the Bar C was a wonderful time in my life, I love you all and will keep you in my prayers. Though the years have distanced us I will always hold your family close to my heart and remember fondly the miles spent on horseback next to Doyle.
