Kokoszka "Richie"
Age 63, of Bear, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2008, at home surrounded by his family and friends.
Richie was born in Chester, PA on August 6, 1944, son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Shatynski) Kokoszka. He moved to Delaware at the age of 4 with this family. Richie was a real estate appraiser, broker and realtor for many years. Richie was an alumnus of Salesianum School, class of 1962. Richie was a former member of the Naval Underwater Demolition Team, and proudly served his country from 1962 to 1966. Richie was a member of St. Anthony's Holy Name Society and Prince of Piedmont Lodge. He was a former member of Cavaliers Country Club. Richie loved spending time in Wildwood, NJ in his younger years. He also loved spending time at his homes in Boca Raton, FL and Rehoboth Beach. He loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved having family dinners.
Richie is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Rosemarie (Capano) Kokoszka; his children, Richard J. Kokoszka II. and his wife, Patricia, Anthony F. Kokoszka and his wife, Shannon, Micheline Kokoszka Stone and her husband, Jeffrey; his grandchildren, Jessica, Stephanie, Angela, and Francessa Kokoszka, Anthony and Marisa Kokoszka, and Jeffrey and Patricia Stone. Also surviving are his brother, Edward J. Kokoszka and his wife, Anne, and their family; his mother-in-law, Betty Capano, his wife's family and his furry four-legged friend, Gigi. Richie was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Catherine (Shatynski) Kokoszka.
Friends and family are invited to visitation on Wednesday, July 23, between 5-8 pm, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 345 Bear Christiana Road, Bear, DE 19701 where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 10:30 am. Entombment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, Inc., 3515 Silverside Road, Wilmington, DE 19810; or to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church at the address above.
