George Blunt Obituary

In loving memory of George E. Blunt, affectionately known as Georgie. George, age 84, passed away at home from a brief illness on February 28, 2015 surrounded by his immediate family. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 29, 1930 to the late Celeste and George Blunt. George was a lifelong resident of Morton, Pennsylvania. He proudly served his community in law enforcement as a deputy constable from 1965 to 1984. After retiring as a manager from Boeing Company in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania in 1991, George returned to law enforcement as a Pennsylvania State Constable. He served three consecutive elected terms from 1991-2009 for the borough of Morton, Delaware County. He was also a U.S. Army veteran. George had many hobbies, including fishing, hunting, and camping. He also enjoyed gardening in his backyard and barbequing during the summer months. George was witty and will certainly be remembered by his family and friends for his wry sense humor. His jokes never ceased to elicit broad smiles and hearty laughs. George will be truly missed. George leaves to cherish his life memory his beloved wife, Loretta Joyce Blunt (whom he married on June 21st, 1957); daughter, Sabrina (Aldridge) Fox; sons, George (Rosalyn), Sheldon, Gerald, and Bruce Blunt; sisters, Mary (Norman) Benson, and Caroline Asbury all from Morton, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, three great-grand children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. At his request, there will be no funeral service. Condolences may be made to The Blunt Family, 230 Walnut St., Morton, Pa 19070

My heart is aching and my mind is distressed as many thoughts of what was, what wasn't and what could have been. A life long journey that contines as I write. A journey that was missing and will always miss the presence of a funny, whittty, smart and stubborn man that I called George. I love you and hope to see you in the after life. My condolences to the family and friends.
