FREMONT, N.H. — Mr. David M. Burokas 50, of Fremont, N.H., passed away Saturday morning, May 2, 2009 at his home, following a long illness. He was surrounded by his family, friends and his loving companion Sheri Todd.
Born and raised in Methuen, he was the son of Albert R. and Genevieve (Wozniak) Burokas of Methuen. He received his education in the Holy Trinity Grammar School and graduated from the Lawrence Vocational High School.
David loved to cook and was an accomplished Sous chef and later opened his own business as a furniture refinisher, Dave's Restoration Services until the time of his illness. David was an avid outdoor enthusiast who loved snow and water skiing, hunting, fishing, boating and was also a true Boston Sports Fan.
A resident of Fremont for the past six years, he also spent time in Yosemite National Park as well as Colorado. He was a member of the Salem, N.H. ELKS.
David had a wonderful sense of humor, courage, humility and kind spirit who was also a selfless and giving person, his loyalty and friendship will greatly missed by all of those who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was a loving brother who enjoyed a close relationship with all his family including his two nephews, Matt and Nicholas Wright, whom he was especially fond of; a brother, Paul Burokas of Methuen and a sister, Karen Wright and her husband Klaus Wright of Methuen; his lifetime friends, Jim Dore of Chester, N.H., John Felice of Atlanta and Haley Lane-Theriault of Fremont, N.H.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Rockingham VNA Hospice, his nurse and friend Shirley Langlois, Debbie Flieotte for their constant care.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. His funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at 9 a.m. in St. Monica's Church, 214 Lawrence St., Methuen. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery, N. Lowell Street, Methuen. Sorry to read about Dave. I liked him. He was one of the nicest people. I am going to try and get there if I can find someone to watch my wife for me. I remember his mustang with the "WHY ME" on the back. Also he use to sit at the bar with me at the Willow Tree. I am really sorry of your loss. He's going to be missed.
