Billy Ray Wilson

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Morgan Funeral Chapel for Billy Ray Wilson, 83, Attalla, who died Sunday, May 1, 2011. The Rev. Earnest Campbell, the Rev. Ricky Cornelius, the Rev. Albert Morgan, the Rev. Billy Ramsey, and the Rev. Dennis Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Morgan Funeral Chapel and Crematory directing.
Bill served 32 and a half years as communications officer for the State of Alabama Highway Patrol. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and he loved all the members of his adult Sunday School class. Bill was preceded in death by his papa, Adam Hollingsworth; mama, Lucy Hollingsworth; mother, Cythia McNair; papa, Roy McNair; brother, Bouy McNair; two special aunts and uncles, Lillie Mae and George Hickman, Wimpy and Eck Tarrance; sister, Bonnie Silvey; uncle, J.T. Hollingsworth; special grandson, Matthew Johnson; and son-in-law, Roy Johnson.
Survivors include wife of 60 years, Mary Lou Souther Wilson, the love of his life; son, Michael (Deddie) Wilson; daughters, Rebecca W. Rinehart, Anita Johnson; grandchildren, Buffy R. (Dan) Walters, Wendy R. (Preston) Nichols, Gabriel Johnson, Mary Anna W. (Ryan) Chandler; special grandson, Clay Wilson; great-grandchildren, Mary Margaret Nichols, Camille Nichols, Whitfield Taylor, Noah Chandler; brothers, Robert Handy McNair, Gordon Larry McNair; chosen brothers, Gerald (Marilee) Hickman, Doug (Connie) Hickman; cousin, Tim Hollingsworth.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Chandler, Mike Wilson, Clay Wilson, Preston Nichols, Sammy Rinehart and Gordon McNair. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Jeremy Goodwin, Dr. Sierra and the angels of mercy in CCU, Charlene, Leigh Ann, Mary, Donna and Cindy and all those who helped him at Riverview Hosptial.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Morgan Funeral Chapel.
