I only remember meeting Uncle Doug once. He came to my father's funeral in August 1968. My father was Sidney Edwin Parker, Doug's brother. When he stepped out of the plane he looked like my father's twin, only with beautiful silver hair. We too, were blessed by also meeting their brother Paul who lived in Oregon with his sweet wife & their son. They also had an older brother, Carl, who, as I recall, lived in California, & died much earlier. They had a sister named Joy, whom we also met. After their mother died, their father married Tracie Belmire whose husband had passed & also had several children. Combined, they raised 13 children.

"Uncle Doug" was truly kind and so very giving of his time and knowledge. Always ready to lend a hand. He was a person I have aspired to be more like. His smile and caring will be truly missed.
