Peter Poznikoff Obituary

It is with deep sadness after a 6 year battle with Alzheimer's disease that the family of Peter Poznikoff announce the passing of their husband, father and grandfather. He leaves to mourn Jean, his loving wife of 39 years, his children Randy (Rachelle) Poznikoff, Peter (Daphne) Poznikoff, and Jennifer (Chris) Rowe, and grandchildren Danielle, Melissa, Brody, Jordan and Jillian.

Pete will be remembered for his many years in Construction. He was considered to be one of British Columbia's best Driller/ Blasters completing projects such as the Coquihalla Hwy, Hell's Gate in the Fraser Canyon, and the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal. Peter was the Rock Superintendent for Standard General for 16 years and also worked for View Construction here in Kamloops.

Peter will be remembered most by his family and friends for the time he spent with his grandchildren, his generosity and his willingness to help others. He was a kind and gentle man who was a great dancer, could fix anything and always "whistled while he worked."

His son Peter Jr. was a special blessing to him, bringing him chocolate pudding and spending many hours with him every week.

We will miss you Dad and we love you very much.

Special thank you's to his many amazing caregivers at Overlander Extended care, but especially Gail, Mitsy, Janine, Janinia, Cindy and Dr. Langford. Jean could not have done it without you there to be strong and caring. You were all very special to him and his family.

No service by request, cremation to be done by Personal Alternative Funeral Services and in lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to the Alzheimer's Society, with the hope that one day we can find a cure.
