Michael Lamar Williams, age 71, passed away on May 9, 2016, with his loving family at his side. A compassionate man of integrity, Mike will always be remembered for his love of family and friendly demeanor. After over 40 years in the insurance profession in Knoxville, he retired to spend time with his family and to enjoy more RV-ing.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Wendell Lamar and Mary Alice Williams. He is survived and will be deeply missed by his loving wife of nearly 30 years, Wanda Williams; daughters, Amy Leslie and husband Winston, Melissa Williams; grandchildren, Skylar Glass and husband Sean, Spencer Leslie and wife Casey, Zach Leslie, Sam Leslie and wife Kimberlee; great-grandchildren, Lydia, Adelyn, and Uriah Glass, Colin Leslie; sister, Jan Evridge, nieces, Katie and Rebecca Evridge; former wife and friend, Pat Williams; former colleague and friend, Lynn Gregg; and so many other extended family he loved too numerous to name.

Mike was a longtime member of Fountain City United Methodist Church, where the family will hold a celebration of life service on Thursday, May 12th at 6:30 pm. The Rev. John Gargis and Rev. Amy Aycock will officiate. A reception and& receiving of friends will follow at the church.
